Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

About us
Alfred Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS) is friendly to infants, children, young people and their families/carers.
We provide accessible mental health services inclusive of family, friends and support networks.
We are a specialist, multi-disciplinary and intensive care mental health service incorporating the lived and living experience of family peer specialists and youth peer workers.
Our service is divided into two streams 0-11 and 12-26 years and includes specialist services in the areas of perinatal care, neurodevelopmental presentations, eating disorders and outreach support.

What you’ll be doing
As one of our senior clinicians, you will provide clinical assessment and intervention, case-management and single session/brief therapy with children and young people experiencing emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties and their families. Embedded into the role are responsibilities for the provision of discipline specific consultation and assessment to clients and clinical services internal and external to ICYAMHWS.
What we need from you
- Approved tertiary qualifications and eligibility for with the relevant professional registering body (Nurses & Midwifery Board / Occupational Therapy Board / Psychology Board via AHPRA, or Speech Pathology Australia, or AASW)
- Demonstrated capability in the provision of a full range of mental health interventions at a senior level
- Australian working rights and current Influenza vaccination
- Current Victorian Driver's License
- Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
