About us

Alfred Psychiatry is responsible for the operation of services which focus on people with a severe mental illness residing in the Inner South Eastern area of Melbourne. Services are provided by a number of teams located at the Alfred Hospital (Commercial Road, Prahran) and at St. Kilda Road Clinic, Eating Disorder Clinic in Armadale, Alma Road CCU in St. Kilda and the Child & Adolescent Service located Page 2 of 6 in Moorabbin. Alfred Psychiatry also works in partnership with relevant local non government and social support agencies. The single most important goal of Alfred Psychiatry is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process 

About the role

Every Alfred Care Group nurse must practice in accordance with the Nursing Professional Practice Framework. The Professional Practice Framework defines the elements of nursing practice that improve the care and experience of our patients and aligns with the Patients Come First Strategy. It is comprised of six domains that are crucial to maintain standards, lead change and add value to healthcare. These domains are Comprehensive Care, Workforce, Leadership, Professional Development, Research and Informatics. The Enrolled Nurse positions are clinical roles responsible for clinical outcomes under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse or Nurse Manager 

About you

  • Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
  • Demonstrates the appropriate competencies and skills as per the relevant Enrolled Nurse Standards of Practice
  • Current and satisfactory Police Check
  • Current and satisfactory Working with Children Check
