About the Department:

Caulfield Pain Management and Research Centre (CPMRC) is an outpatient multidisciplinary chronic pain programme in Alfred Health. The Centre assists patients reduce the impact of persistent pain by optimising pain treatments, improving physical and psychological functioning and promoting self-management. We are staffed with a variety of medical specialists and allied health staff and offer individual and group-based treatments. CPMRC are accredited by The Faculty of Pain Medicine of ANZCA for core training, in collaboration with Alfred Health acute and complex inpatient pain services.

About the Role:

We are seeking Locum Fractional Specialist in Pain Medicine to work 14 hours per week, as part of the multidisciplinary programme, assessing and reviewing patients and collaborating with the team to plan treatments. This position is available from 22nd April 2025 to 20 July 2025. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice.
  • Fellowship of the FPMANZCA and relevant second specialty.
  • Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Pain Medicine and in particular multidisciplinary chronic pain management is required
  • Meets Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Pain Medicine.
  • Experience in teaching and an involvement in research are desirable.
