The Department

The Medical Oncology (MONC) Unit provides multidisciplinary management for adult cancer patients. An important component of its continuous growth is the activation of service improvement and research projects. The Unit is committed to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery, with a focus on consumer-driven, patient-centred innovations. With strong affiliations with Monash University, the Unit has a growing portfolio of clinical and translational projects that are enabled by the Alfred Cancer Biobank (ACB).

The Role
The primary purpose of the position is to support the continuous growth of the Medical Oncology (MONC) Unit, particularly in the areas of academic research and clinical service improvement. Supported by the Director and Clinical Research Manager, the position is responsible for overseeing the operations and management of the Alfred Cancer Biobank.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independence, judgement, and initiative.
  • Familiar with the ethical and legal requirements of biobanking and research activities involving human biospecimens and data
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and quality of documentation
