  • Permanent, Part-time – 48 hours per fortnight (ideally able to flex up at times for leave replacement)

About the Team

We have more than 15 main sites, including hospitals, centres and clinics that provide comprehensive care from welcoming newborns to supporting older people and a full range of services in between.

The Greenhouse is an acute inpatient assessment unit at the Alfred Hospital which consists of 15 beds and is staffed on an interdisciplinary model with 24-hour nursing care. As it is a unit treating patients with acute conditions there is an expectation that patients will be discharged to their original address or other more appropriate environments as soon as they are ready for discharge. Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) sessions are usually conducted on Mondays and Fridays as required.

About the role

The Administration Officer contributes to the effective operation and functioning of the Aged Psychiatry Service by providing ‘front of house’ reception services to all persons attending the Aged Psychiatry Service, including receiving and directing persons and telephone calls, to ensure persons receive the required service in the most appropriate time frame. The position also provides administrative support to the staff working within the Aged Psychiatry Service. Other responsibilities include directing enquiries to the other Alfred Services operating within the same location.

About you

Essential

  • Experience in public health settings and working with related agencies
  • Experience in administrative functions and processes
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Strong computer/IT literacy
  • Current influenza vaccination and Australian working rights

Desirable

  • Experience in mental health or other health care services
