- Registered Nurse (Div 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Strong communication, organisational skills and appreciation of multidisciplinary teamwork
- Experience in Clinical research nursing highly desirable
- Clinical Knowledge regarding Neuroscience Nursing, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuroimmunology desirable
- Level 3B, YU13.
- 0.4 FTE, Mondays and Tuesday
- 14-15 month contract (Feb – May 2027) with a high likelihood of extension

Neurology has long been recognised as one of the major clinical and research strengths of Alfred Health.
The Role
The MSNI Clinical Nurse role provides an opportunity to join a dynamic team of MS and neuroimmunology clinicians focused on delivering excellent care to people with MS and Neuroimmunological disorders at The Alfred Care Group, Bayside Health. The MSNI Clinical nurse will work closely with Senior MSNI nurses, research nurses and medical consultants. The post holder will work closely with people with MS and Neuroimmunological disorders and attend MSNI Clinics at Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham Hospital campuses.
There is close interaction with the MSNI senior admin officer, clinical research team, research fellows and students involved in clinical trials.
The position will allow for the appointee to develop specialist nursing skills in this area, working alongside an expert nursing team.
Qualification and Experience Required
Essential
- Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Venipuncture, ECG and intravenous cannulation skills
- Undertake a CASA Course every 2 years.
- Obtain and maintain yearly Basic Life Support accreditation
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Strong and proven time management skills
- Have good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to work independently with other services and departments in the hospital and community
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in health and/or management or working towards same
- Clinical knowledge regarding Multiple Sclerosis, Neuroimmunology and/or Neuroscience nursing
- Open, flexible and innovative
- Support and develop undergraduate students, nursing and associated staff
