Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services.

The Department

The Finance Division provides a wide range of financial and business services to all areas of Alfred Health.  Finance services include financial and management accounting, financial compliance, financial analysis & decision support, data management, organisational reporting, clinical costing, support for financial information systems and transactional services (including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Medical Billing). Data and Analytical Services (DAS) is part of finance and provides specialised data management, analysis and reporting services to Alfred Health and provides application support for key corporate applications.

Position Summary

This role will provide the technical and data support to maintain the data integrity of the AlfredHealth Data warehouse Platform and modelling of data of the organizational visualization and analytical needs. This will include but not limited to design and extract data for different purposes including data registries, researchers and other business and adhoc purposes. The position will be responsible for delivering a customer centric approach to the system support and providing technical direction and oversight on the user of technology to improve the efficiency of data.

Experience and Qualifications Required

Mandatory

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in an appropriate business or technology field
  • Excellent IT skills with experience working with SQL databases and SSIS tools
  • Excellent object-oriented design and programming skills with relational data and data modelling experience.
  • Knowledge of data and reporting requirements in relation to healthcare settings (desirable)
  • 4+ years hands-on experience in a data analytics/engineering/science role

Desirable

  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain technical documentation using Miro and Confluence
  • Knowledge about Victorian health registries and data collection methods
  • Experience in Oracle Health care systems
