The Department

The department of Cardiology is seeking a full time maternity leave cover research nurse to join our Structural Heart team. 

The Role

The Research Nurse - Structural Heart Clinical Trials Lead is responsible for all aspects of clinical research management across the Structural Heart Program. The role encompasses feasibility assessment, study start-up activities, budget development and negotiation, Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and Research Governance submissions, participant recruitment and retention, clinical trial coordination, patient management, data management, financial oversight and study close-out activities.

The role provides leadership and supervision to Structural Heart Research Program clinical trial nurses and works collaboratively with Principal Investigators, sponsors, vendors and research stakeholders to ensure high-quality, compliant and efficient delivery of clinical research activities.

Qualifications and Experience required

Essential    

• Registered Nurse with current registration through the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and AHPRA.
• Diploma of Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Demonstrated experience in cardiovascular nursing. 
• Demonstrated experience as a Research Nurse with measurable research outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex clinical research studies.

Desirable    

• Master's Degree or other relevant postgraduate qualifications.
• Experience preparing Human Research Ethics Committee submissions and grant applications.
• Experience working within a cardiac catheter laboratory environment.
• Project management experience.
• Industry-sponsored clinical trial experience.
• Experience working with professional societies and external research organisations
