The Department 

The Alfred provides a fully integrated range of cancer treatment services and modalities onsite, from diagnosis through to best supportive care.

On Ward 7 East, you will have the chance to work in our comprehensive service, including solid tumour cancers, non-malignant haematology, malignant haematology, CAR-T therapy and stem cell transplantation including autologous, allogeneic and haploidentical transplantation.  We also provide care for an extensive range of clinical trials including first in human trials.  There are exciting opportunities within our unit to experience this care delivery across the spectrum of the patient journey.

The Role

As an ANUM, you will lead a team to provide excellence in patient care. You demonstrate the core nursing values of patient centred care, trust and respect in every interaction with patients, carers and colleagues.  You will be able to demonstrate skills to develop and support a high performing team.  You will be supported with a professional development framework, which includes key learning concepts to become a skilled leader in cancer nursing. 

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
  • Current and satisfactory Police Check
  • Current and satisfactory Working With Children Check
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a fast paced, multidisciplinary team
  • Strong patient focus
  • Chemotherapy administration experience required
  • Ability to escalate to actively progress patient care
  • Understand principles of patient flow and timely quality care
  • Postgraduate qualifications and previous leadership experience highly desirable
