The Department
The Alfred Health Digital Health Division provides support for the use and development of information and communications technology across Alfred Health. Alfred Health is one of the world leaders in its field and is extremely dependent on its information systems to support its daily operations. The organisation is very keen to be innovative and progressive in its application of technology to support the various areas of its business and in particular the patient journey.
The infrastructure comprises 8500+ workstations, and a WAN, connecting a number of hospitals, remote clinics, and multiple data centres with enterprise servers (physical and virtual). The applications range from clinical, service delivery, and administrative to commercial and business. The Digital Health Division is responsible for supporting this infrastructure and is looking for an Engineer with strong technical and management skills who is eager to develop upon their current professional knowledge base.
The Position Summary
An excellent IT opportunity is available to join a world-renowned, public health organisation, Alfred Health, in Melbourne. The purpose of this role is to maintain and support the telecommunications environment, which consists of internet, data, video, and voice networks over IP and non-IP based technologies for Alfred Health and to perform troubleshooting and management. This is a senior position within the Team. This role will assist the Telecommunications Architect with implementation of new Telecommunications technologies and become a subject matter expert for ongoing BAU support of these products. The role will also assist more junior Team members in performing their duties both as an escalation point for them and as assistance to them where a greater depth of knowledge and troubleshooting skills are required.
Skills and Qualifications Required
- Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience
- Recognised Industry Certifications or relevant work experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing a complex telecommunication environment
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a commitment to providing quality system support and customer service
- Data Centre and server room operations
- Strong Technical Documentation Skills (Microsoft VISIO)
- VoIP including but not limited to:
-Cisco Call Manager / Unity Connection / Informacast / FAX
-Basic knowledge of Cisco voice gateways / SIP
