  • Part-time (0.8EFT / 60.8 hours) to June 2026
  • RPN Grade 4 or Social Worker / Occupational Therapist / Psychologist Grade 3

The Department

headspace offers a ‘one stop shop’ for young people aged 12 -25 and their families who may be experiencing mental health challenges. Providing an opportunity for young people to receive help early and promote a 'no wrong door' approach to supporting young people and their families through the provision of GPs, counsellors, Alcohol & other Drug workers and Vocational and Educational support.

Alfred Health is the lead agency for this program and offers the opportunity to work in a growing dynamic healthcare environment. 

The Role

The Family Therapy Coordinator will lead a team of experienced and passionate clinicians in providing Single Session Family (SSFT) appointments for young people and their families.

The SSFT team provides an intensive; strengths-based approach to families and assist them to identify the strengths and achievements within their family.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Approved tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and eligibility for a membership of the appropriate professional body (The Nursing and Midwifery Board / the Occupational Therapy Board / the Psychology Board via AHPRA, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.  
  • Credentialed mental health clinician as per discipline requirements.
  • Experience using the single session approach
  • Extensive clinical experience in working collaboratively with young people and their families in mental health settings
  • Completion of Family Therapy training is desirable
  • Appropriate work visa
  • Current Influenza vaccination
  • Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check
