Alfred Health

Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory, to inpatient and home and community-based services.

The South East Collaborative for Advanced Training In General and Acute Care Medicine

The South East Collaborative is a regional network of health services that acts as a singular conjoint recruiting body for trainees continuing or entering into GACM advanced training in 2026. The GACM SE Collaborative comprises Alfred Health, Monash Health, Eastern Health, Peninsula Health and other hospitals affiliated with these health services.

Candidates who are successfully recruited to the SE Collaborative (as an employee at one of the aforementioned health services) can expect to have a 36-month training program that gives you access to a variety of rotations in accredited roles across the collaborative with the core aim of delivering a diverse and balanced mix of learning experience that sets up your consultant career and fulfils RACP AT requirements.  For trainees commencing APT for the first time in 2026, please familiarise yourself with the new product SEC is offering: 36 month training plans to complete GACM fellowship.  Details can be found on our website.

Please follow this link to the South East Collaboration web site for more details about our training opportunities and site contacts.

All rotations in the collaborative meet the CORE training requirements of the RACP PREP Advanced Training curriculum in General and Acute Care Medicine.

Flexible Training

Flexible and part-time training opportunities are available in our program and the collaborative as a whole.  We have a range of roster structures for part-time training that we can discuss with successful applicants.  Please indicate your interest in part-time training in your application cover letter.

Regional Training

We collaborate with regional training partners and will be offering regional rotations matched with some of highly popular metro rotations.  All trainees seeking regional training through SEC are prioritised for rotation allocations.
