DEPARTMENT

The Safety & Wellbeing team provides leadership, strategic guidance, systems, risk reporting/monitoring and expert advice in key areas such as OHS management systems, occupational violence, manual handling and ergonomics, workplace injury prevention and management, emergency preparedness and wellbeing initiatives. 

POSITION

The Manager, Health and Safety Business Partner is responsible for leading a team to ensure the delivery of high standards of health and safety practices across the organisation. This role supports the Director, Safety and Wellbeing in embedding safety leadership, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, and contributing to a proactive culture of health, safety, and wellbeing. The Manager will oversee the development and delivery of health and safety systems ensuring these align with organisational goals and the strategic direction of the Safety and Wellbeing program.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in leading health and safety teams.

  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory frameworks related to OHS, systems, and emergency management.

  • Victorian Driver’s License

Desirable

  • Demonstrated high-level strategic and planning skills

  • Experience in Occupational Health and Safety strategy in a large and diverse service-orientated business.

  • A strong record of motivating and developing employees through effective leadership.

  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgement and political acumen in operational and management issues

  • High-level communication, negotiation and presentation skills
