THE DEPARTMENT

The Alfred Cancer program governs the delivery of comprehensive cancer care across Alfred Health, providing clinical care for patients affected by cancer, blood disorders and at the end of life. Alfred Cancer comprises service units providing clinical and research excellence in the fields of medical oncology, radiation oncology, haematology, bone marrow transplant, haemophilia, melanoma and palliative care. The program provides quality clinical care for our local catchment and to all Victorians through our state-wide melanoma, haematology and haemophilia services. The Alfred Cancer program also has a large focus on clinical trials with a research component embedded in each medical unit. In addition, Alfred Cancer partners with many rural and regional centres, collaborating in the delivery of clinical trial and research activity across Victoria.

 

THE ROLE

The Project Officer is a dynamic team member who works with clinicians and leaders across the organisation to drive innovation, manage change and build organisational improvement capability.  They support teams in transforming service delivery to improve the experience of our patients, the way teams work together, and the overall effectiveness and efficiency of our systems and services.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential

  • Project management experience.
  • Combination of relevant clinical knowledge, operational management experience and project management skills
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in project management and redesign, preferably in an acute health care environment
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to work skilfully and creatively in an environment of competing values and competing demands
