Alfred Health - Occupational Therapy Services operates across The Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham Hospitals, with clinical services aligned to Alfred Health's strategic goals and operational performance targets.

The Occupational Therapy Service is committed to the provision of high-quality, evidence-based care, and strongly values professional development and clinical supervision. Clinical service provision is focused on inpatient acute, rehabilitation and aged care streams, for diverse patient populations including emergency, general medicine, surgical, orthopaedic, neurological, trauma, spinal, amputee and burns/plastics speciality units.


The Position Summary
This position will bridge the gap between clinician and researcher, providing an exciting role as a clinician-researcher Occupational Therapist within the team at Alfred Health. The split of this role includes 3 days a week in clinical and 2 days per week in research but may flex according to the needs of the department. The clinical role includes the provision of Occupational Therapy Services within a designated clinical caseload, appropriate to their level of experience and competency. All our staff receive clinical supervision and training as part of the Grade 1 education and new graduate programs. From a research perspective, this role is integral in providing research support to the department under the guidance of the Grade 4, Research Lead and Managers with activities including research education, ethics applications and supporting approved studies.

Alfred Health’s Occupational Therapy Service provides you with access to regular clinical supervision, opportunities for continued professional development and being part of a friendly and supportive team.

 

Skills and Qualifications Required

  • New graduate clinician (within 12 months of graduation)
  • Research Hons degree
  • Full Registration held (or eligible) with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia 
  • Member of OT Australia (or eligibility for membership)
