About the Role

Applications are invited for the position of Clinical Human Factors Lead at Alfred Health.

The Clinical Human Factors Lead is a member of the Learning and Innovation Department and will be part of a dynamic leadership team that will drive and facilitate a culture of excellence in education, Human Factors, innovation, and seeking solutions to the many persistent health care challenges.

The appointee is also a member of the People and Culture department of Alfred Health and may be required to work across all Alfred Health campuses clinically (as the lead in Human Factors).

Qualifications and Skills Required

Our preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:

  • Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with AHPRA without conditions, undertakings or reprimands
  • Masters and/or PhD in the area of Cognitive, Behavioural, Experimental or Applied Psychology, Human Factors or Human Computer Interaction
  • Expertise of usability research methods and qualitative data analysis techniques
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in managing and mentoring
  • Strong design sensitivity that enables you to provide strategic design recommendations as a result of user research and human factors expertise
  • Demonstrated ability in project management, research, design strategy, human factors program management experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Human Factors standards and guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability navigating the TGA and FDA regulations for commercial sponsors;
  • Understanding and knowledge on the Medical Technologies Association of Australia Clinical Investigations Research agreement (MTAA)
  • Success in attracting and securing contracts and grants
  • Excellent analytical, writing, communication and presentation skills
