Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical officers for a 12-month appointment in 2024 as a Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Fellow. (0.6 FTE) 

 

The Neuromuscular role includes 4 EMG sessions per week, weekly Neuromuscular Clinic (Caulfield hospital) and every other week at the Sandighram Neuromuscular Clinic. The role also involves active involvement in the development of the intraoperative spinal monitoring service (IOM) at the Alfred Hospital, interpretation of evoked potentials and limited autonomic studies. 

 

In addition to this participation in weekly didactic Neurophysiology Teaching, monthly Neuropathology sessions and assessment of Neuromuscular ward consults in conjunction with the Consultant is also expected. We encourage active involvement in research and there are opportunities for higher research degrees beyond the fellowship year.
