Applications are invited for a Home Dialysis Specialist and a Kidney Transplant Specialist, both fixed term positions until November 2026 at 0.24 EFT each. Please advise in your cover letter which position you are applying for.
Position Summary
Home Dialysis Specialist - In this role, a nephrologist will provide care for home dialysis patients across Bayside Health, with particular focus on the Peninsula Care Group catchment. This will include providing a weekly clinic, supporting specialist nurse-led assessment, training and care, liaising with and supporting local clinicians, leading multidisciplinary complex care coordination, and engaging with the wider home dialysis team and relevant Care Groups at Bayside Health.
Kidney Transplant Specialist - In this role, a transplant-experienced nephrologist will represent the Bayside Health Alfred Care Group kidney transplant program to provide post-transplant care and pre-transplant evaluation to patients across Bayside Health, with particular focus on the Peninsula Care Group catchment. This will include providing a weekly clinic, supporting specialist nurse-led care, liaising with and supporting local clinicians, and participating in Alfred Care Group transplant hub activities (including audits, meetings and multidisciplinary decision-making) to ensure consistent, safe, and high-quality transplant care across Bayside Health.
The Senior Medical Staff (SMS) member is required:
- To provide excellent clinical expertise and service in Renal Medicine.
- To provide supervision to junior medical and other relevant staff within the Unit/ Department.
- To support Bayside Health’s quality, monitoring and improvement initiatives
- To support Bayside Health’s teaching, research and clinical governance programs.
- To support the strategic priorities and values & beliefs of Bayside Health.
