DEPARTMENT

The Finance Department provides a wide range of financial and related services to all areas of Alfred Health.  Financial services include financial accounting and compliance, management accounting, financial analysis, decision support, analysis of clinical performance, clinical costing, support for financial information systems and transactional services (including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Medical Billing). Also to include Outpatient Business Partnering, which includes financial budgeting and ongoing monitoring.

A significant part of Finance Department's responsibility is financial budgeting and monitoring as well as financial reporting and governance; that is, ensuring that Alfred Health is compliant with various government, auditing and taxation requirements.  Aside from the financial performance, Finance, through the Clinical Performance Unit, has responsibility for the reporting and analysis of Alfred Health's clinical activities and performance.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable Officer – Private Practice role reports to the Finance Manager – Accounts Payable. This role is responsible for providing support to the Accounts Payable Team as well as the management of private practice revenue and payments. This role will assist any queries relating Accounts Payable and Private Practice from a wide range of stakeholders, including business partnering, program business managers, auditors and consultants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enter approved and coded invoices in to GP for payment .
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. This includes Billing Team, Financial Information System (FIS) team, Business Partnering, program Business Managers, and a vast number of consultants that perform private practices services.
  • Ensure compliance with the delegations of authority, finance manual and any other relevant internal finance policies
  • Ensure accurate, timely and effective completion of month end revenue allocation, including revenue transfers between programs, and accruals.
  • Ensure facility fee model consultants and other Accounts Payable vendors are paid within the given timeframes and provide consultants the supporting documents (e.g. facility fee tax invoice, remittance advice, revenue report).
  • Provide Private Practice Statements on a quarterly and annual basis for all consultants, which include both 100% donation model, and facility fee model.
  • Support continuous improvement of organisational processes, procedures, systems and reporting on private practice
  • Manage private practice generic mailbox, and respond consultants queries in a timely manner with a strong customer service focus
  • Other ad hoc and project tasks as directed

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Qualifications required

  • A business or accounting degree (or equivalent experience).
