THE DEPARTMENT

Applications are invited for the position of Social Worker in our Lung Transplant Service, Respiratory Medicine.

 

THE ROLE

This position will work closely with the Senior Social Worker, Lung Transplant Service and is responsible for supporting patient social work requirements as part of the Lung Transplant Multidisciplinary clinical team.

This position would be professionally supported through the Alfred Social Work Department. This 0.5 EFT Lung Transplant Service Social Worker will be responsible for the provision of advanced social work services to patients and their families/significant others within the Alfred Lung Transplant Service as directed by the Senior Lung Transplant Service Social Worker. The role has been specifically created to cover the steady growth and complexity of the Lung Transplant Service- focussing on the increasing challenges of being a long-term transplant survivor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

ESSENTIAL

  • Bachelor of Social Work or recognised equivalent with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Significant Social Work experience in hospital or related healthcare setting
