The Department 

The Alfred provides a fully integrated range of cancer treatment services and modalities onsite, from diagnosis through to best supportive care.  You will have the chance to work in our comprehensive service, including solid tumour cancers, non-malignant haematology, malignant haematology and stem cell transplantation including autologous and allogeneic transplants.  We also provide care for an extensive range of clinical trials including first in human trials.  

 

The Role

As a clinical support nurse, your practice will lead to excellence in patient care.  You will be supporting clinical staff in the in-patient and ambulatory cancer setting with chemotherapy assessment, administration and supportive care.  This role will work towards upskilling and supporting the education requirements of new and graduate staff recruited to the Cancer Program.  You will provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff to develop their clinical skills in delivering cancer treatement. You will be working alongside senior leadership and educational teams.

 

 

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team
  • Strong patient focus
  • ADAC credentialled and Chemotherapy administration experience is essential.
  • ADAC Facilitator, highly desirable
  • Experience in providing clinical staff support and education, highly desirable
  • AHPRA Registration
