DEPARTMENT:
The Alfred Health Radiation Oncology (AHRO) Department is a unit of a comprehensive cancer service provided by Alfred Health. The department is comprised of two units, Alfred Radiation Oncology (ARO) located in the South Block at The Alfred and The Gippsland Radiation Oncology (GRO), located at Latrobe Regional Hospital. Together the two units provide the full range of radiation oncology and radiation therapy services (with the exception of paediatrics) in addition to some specialized services with both state and national significance.
POSITION:
This is a fixed term 10-week position for a grade 1-3 radiotherapy medical physicist at Alfred Radiation Oncology(ARO) as backfill position.
The position is suitable for a newly certified Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist or recent Medical Physics graduate/PhD student.
The successful applicant may be required to take part in some shift work and to take on some on-call duties.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential
A postgraduate Degree in Physics or related field with some experience in Radiotherapy Physics.
Eligibility for Ordinary Membership of the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM).
Desirable
A current Victorian driver’s license.
Previous experience in a clinical environment
Listed on ACPSEM Register of Qualified Medical Physicists with the specialty of Radiation Oncology Medical Physics.
