The Department

The Procurement, Property and Supply Chain Department is the principal procurement, warehousing and distribution centre for the Health Service.

Procurement supports Alfred Health in pursuing its strategic goals by providing an effective and efficient service.  Procurement is responsible for governance and compliance for all procurement activities undertaken across the Health Service, focusing on managing costs and risks in line with three (3) overarching objectives as follows:

• value for money;
• quality services; and
• alignment with business needs.

The Role

An outstanding opportunity has arisen within the departments Indirects team for a Category Manager

Skills 

• Highly experienced in end-to-end procurement, supplier selection and contract management;
• Ability to work efficiently within highly regulated procurement frameworks giving high regard to probity and ethical practice;
• Familiarity with strategic sourcing and category management methodology;
• Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgment;
• Strong project management, negotiation and leadership skills;
• Ability to establish and sustain strong networking relationships;
• Highly experienced in the collection, analysis and interpretation of data;
• Strong report writing skills;
• Understanding of Contracts and Legal terminology.
