DEPARTMENT:

Alfred Health has one of the most experienced and technologically advanced radiology departments in the country, providing services to the population of Melbourne and greater Victoria.

Across both The Alfred and Sandringham hospitals, radiology provides a comprehensive range of medical diagnostic and interventional services with a modern range of equipment across all modalities.

The departmental clinical governance strategy ensures a high standard of care for patients undergoing radiological examinations and promotes a multidisciplinary team approach.

Alfred Health Radiology is fully accredited with the Department of Health.

POSITION:

The Clinical Support and Development Nurse (CSDN) is a professional and clinical leader who actively contributes to meeting key organisational imperatives.

The CSDN working with the Nurse Manager (NM) and the Associate Nurse Manager (ANM), operationalises the core values of Nursing at Alfred Health by ensuring a safe, progressive and supportive environment for patients and staff. The CSDN supports the NM to implement strategies that ensure a sustainable and skilled nursing workforce to deliver excellence in clinical practice; including ongoing review of model of care within allocated resources to manage complexities of Radiology Intervention.

As part of a skilled leadership team the CSDN will be responsible for both clinical and post-graduate education coordination, direct clinical support to the interdisciplinary workforce. This will include diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, and encompass, rotations through operating suite- with a vascular focus, patient care and implementation of a clinical research profile within the unit. These responsibilities and deliverables will be aligned with the overall direction of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current Registered Nurse Division 1 Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum four years’ experience in Radiology nursing with a diagnostic and interventional focus, in particular angiography
  • Extensive experience in a clinical leadership role with an education component as well.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in management or working towards an equivalent qualification
  • Working with Children’s Check
