Alfred Health plans to offer a Specialist Women’s Mental Health Centre (SWMHC) in partnership with Ramsay Health & Goulburn Valley Health, to be located at 2 sites:  Ramsay Clinic- Albert Road (30 beds or bed equivalents [B/BE]) and Shepparton Private Hospital (5 B/BEs). The unit will provide a state-wide comprehensive specialist service for women and those who identify as women experiencing severe mental ill-health. Our care will be trauma-informed and wellness-focused.

Recruitment is now open for consultant psychiatrists in this innovative service at The Ramsay Clinic Albert Road site at 31 Albert Rd, Melbourne. 

There are multiple positions available including one fractional position for a psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of Eating Disorders;  fractional or full-time positions for generalist psychiatrists with an interest in women’s mental health working in inpatient and Hospital in The Home. Fractional positions may be combined with other roles within AMAH for psychiatrists seeking additional hours up to and including full time. The location also provides an opportunity for psychiatrists to do private consulting at the Ramsay Clinic-Albert Road.

Reporting to the Director (Clinical) of the SWMHC, our preferred candidate must be a legally qualified medical practitioners, registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and a Fellow of the RANZCP.  For a full list of attributes, please see the position description.
