Grade 2 Occupational Therapist - Burns Outpatients

An exciting opportunity presents for a suitably qualified Occupational Therapist to join our large and supportive team at Alfred Health.  We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and team-focussed Occupational Therapist to join our Plastics Stream within the Occupational Therapy Department. 

  • Permanent Position
  • 1.0 EFT (Full-Time) position working with the Alfred Victorian Adult Burns Service
  • Part-time applicants or flexible working arrangements will be considered
  • Grade 2 Occupational Therapist Classification

Alfred Health - Occupational Therapy Services operates across The Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham Hospitals, with clinical services aligned to Alfred Health strategic goals and operational performance targets.

The Role

  • Providing person centred care to acute and subacute patients receiving treatment at Victorian Adult Burns Service (VABS) - the state-wide adult burns service located at the Alfred Hospital. 
  • You will work as part of a collaborative and passionate multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality care across the inpatient and outpatient services.
  • This role will primarily involve the follow-up treatment and rehabilitation of burns patients in an outpatient setting, however may also include some inpatient responsibilities
  • This clinical caseload will predominantly involve burns patients with upper limb specific rehabilitation needs, including but not limited to scar management, garment prescription, splinting, provision of home exercise programs.


Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Full Registration held with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Minimum three years of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Working with Children’s Check
  • Effective communication skills
  • A strong commitment to ongoing learning and development
  • Be a consistent and proactive team player
