  • This part-time position involves a key role in the gastrointestinal physiology investigations in the Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders Division and as part of the Clinical Services Centre.

Department

The Department of Gastroenterology provides a comprehensive range of gastroenterology services for the management of patients with all types of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases. In addition to a general gastroenterology clinic, the Department conducts a number of subspecialty clinics addressing specific needs.

Position Summary

You will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team within the Department of Gastroenterology at Alfred Health that provides high quality care to patients undergoing gastroenterological investigations.

As part of the team you will:

  • Cooperate in a team of health care workers to provide a medical/support service through outpatient services.
  • Promote collaboration with medical and nursing colleagues to establish the Gastroenterology Department's Unit patient care and research goals
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff attending or working in the outpatient clinics held within the department.
  • Support and participate in educational and research programs of the Gastroenterology Department and other collaborating hospital departments
  • Encourage, develop and sustain an environment that supports excellence in clinical investigations and diagnostics in the Gastroenterology Department 

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Registered as a Division 2 Enrolled Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
  • Demonstrates the appropriate competencies and skills as per the relevant Enrolled Nurse Standards of Practice
  • Experience coordinating outpatient investigations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in performing/assisting with GI physiology studies is desirable but not essential
