The Department

Monash School of Public Health & Preventive Medicine is a teaching and research unit of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences and is centred at the Alfred Hospital Campus.  It plays a prominent role in public health medicine in Australia and has a strong record for training individuals with the capacity and skills to assume leadership roles in Australia in this field. We work closely with the major Monash-affiliated hospitals, research institutes and public health units within Victoria. The Diabetes Clinical Quality Registry (DCQR) is a national registry that is in its developmental stages with its foundations established from the Australian National Diabetes Audit (ANDA). The DCQR aims to monitor the quality (appropriateness and effectiveness) of health care for patients with diabetes by routinely collecting and analysing clinical performance data. It aims to also provide clinicians, health service managers, patients and other stakeholders with ongoing, risk adjusted, benchmarked feedback on clinical practice and patient outcomes, to improve the standard of care for patients with diabetes.

The Role

The Data Manager/Analyst is a key role in the Unit. This position will manage the collection and storage of registry data, provide technical support to the Senior Managers and other staff members of the Unit, provide support to produce a range of reports and assist with the design and development of the registry database.

Key Selection Criteria

The appointee will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualifications in a scientific discipline or other relevant field (e.g. health data science) with several years relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant management experience and proven expertise in data management; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
