Alfred Health is the main provider of health services to people in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne and is also a major provider of specialist services to people across Victoria. The Health Service operates three outstanding facilities: The Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham.
Applications are invited for the position of Specialist in General Medicine (Fractional). The successful applicants will contribute to all aspects of General Medicine clinical service which includes acute inpatients at all three campuses of Alfred Health, Integrated Care (Gen Med Community outreach) and Consultation and Peri-operative Medicine. Start dates are negotiable.
The service growth for Alfred Health in 2022 and beyond is in developing the pathways to step up and step down acute care in the community in partnership with patients and primary care providers. We aspire to de-institutionalise acute care for chronic disease. General Physicians with experience in community based acute care, quality improvement and supervision and mentoring are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered with the Medical Practitioners’ Board of Victoria, and hold Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Physicians. Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in General Medicine is required as well as meeting Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in General Medicine.
