DEPARTMENT

The Technology Strategy and Architecture Program sits in the Digital Health Division The overarching vision of the Digital Health division is to enable “easy access to person-centred, smart and connected quality care”. Digital Health is responsible for enabling clinical staff to deliver timely, quality care to our patients and carers through innovative use of information technologies, and through strategic management of information and data across the organisation.  It is also progressively developing and supporting initiatives to enable patients to use digital health innovations to support their own care and health management.

Technology Strategy and Architecture is responsible for technology strategy, architecture and technology investment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Enterprise Architect provides technology strategy and architecture leadership for the health service; partnering with technology leaders across Alfred Health, government and industry to enable the Digital Health team to be well informed of new and emerging trends. It provides oversight and advice and leads initiatives on technical and service matters relating to the health service’s digital and technology architecture. It has a core function of mapping out the future of Alfred Health’s Digital Health direction and ensuring it is then delivered.

The Enterprise Architect will be skilled in all elements of digital and technology architecture and possess strong interpersonal communication skills in order to manage multiple stakeholders across all health-related disciplines. This position will have a strong emphasis on enterprise wide planning and will provide direction and guidance to digital health initiatives across internal and external teams and vendors.  The Enterprise Architect will develop an enterprise architecture plan and help programs within Alfred Health structure projects and policies to achieve the goals of the organisation. This position is also responsible for developing, communicating, maintaining, and enforcing overall enterprise architecture models, representations, initiatives and capabilities to successfully perform the organization's business and technology activities.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Systems Engineering or similar
  • Proven expertise in Enterprise Architecture at a senior level, ideally with experience in a health related environment
  • Expertise in the design, development and deployment of technology architecture and an understanding of technology architecture principles
  • Previous experience defining and executing digital and technology strategy
  • Solid understanding of business needs beyond the technical/technology aspects
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills and experience working directly with executive teams
  • Experience in modelling and graphic representation

Desirable:

  • Certification in an Enterprise Architecture methodology, e.g. TOGAF
  • Previous experience in a large complex health service
