The Alfred Sleep Service is committed to providing a high quality clinical service and is actively involved in Sleep Medicine Research.
We are seeking candidates with an appropriate science degree to work as Deputy Sleep Scientist in our Sleep Laboratory. Responsibilities include, management of staff, monitoring of delivery of sleep investigative services according to professional standards. Safety and quality management are also important aspects of the role. In addition to close collaboration with Sleep Scientists, administrative staff and Sleep/Respiratory Physicians and Digital Health team, the position involves collaboration with other teams across Alfred Health to ensure optimal delivery of service to patients. The Deputy Sleep Scientist requires a good understanding of the science and physiology of sleep, sleep disorders and their assessment and treatment.
Applicants must be task focussed, highly motivated and show initiative. A relevant Science or Applied Science degree is mandatory, as is previous experience as a Sleep Scientist. Candidates should be, or eligible to be, ACCP accredited as a Sleep Physiologist. Post graduate qualifications in Sleep Science, Digital Health / Data Science or IT would be an advantage. Research experience is also advantageous.
