Ward 5 East consists of 32 beds, servicing 4 respiratory units: Adult and Paediatric Lung Transplant, General Respiratory and Sleep Studies; Cystic Fibrosis; and Allergy and Immunology Medicine. 5 East delivers care through a multidisciplinary team approach. Which is facilitated by daily ward rounds and frequent team meetings. The nursing team on 5 East complete annual mandatory competencies; and participate in a range of quality portfolios and activities in-line with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards. The 5 East nursing team are a compassionate, enthusiastic team of highly skilled nurses, specialising in acute respiratory nursing care.
As a registered nurse your practice will lead to excellence in patient care. You understand the importance of establishing a relationship between the patient and yourself in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for your patients. You demonstrate the core nursing values of patient centred care, trust and respect in every interaction with patients, carers and colleagues. As nurse you are accountable for establishing and evaluating the patient’s plan of care in partnership with the patient, their carers and other members of the health care team. You are supported in your role as a clinical nurse by all other nursing positions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
