The Nursing Education Department is committed to providing excellence in education for all nurses. Our overall goal is to act as a support and resource to Nursing Services through the provision of educational activities that support enrolled, undergraduate, registered and post graduate nurses to provide outstanding nursing care and service. The Role
The role of the Clinical Support Nurse (CSN) is to support the entry to practice students, transition to practice participants (Graduate Nurse Program and Enrolled Nurse Transition Program), and new and developing staff to the clinical environment and support clinical learning in a practical and applied way. The role may include the implementation of innovative practices to improve the quality of health delivery, assisting with planning, implementing and evaluating care and practices as required. The CSN will reflect the values of Nursing Services by exemplifying and promoting excellence in practice
Qualifications & Experiences Required
Essential
Currently registered as a Registered Nurse with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
Working towards (enrolled in) or have completed a postgraduate certificate in nursing or education
Demonstrated relevant clinical knowledge / experience in acute/sub-acute care nursing (relevant to site) and in a clinical leadership role
Minimum of 6 months recent experience of preceptorship or education role in clinical areas
Demonstrated in-depth understanding of nursing scope of practice
Demonstrated high level reflective and critical analysis skills
Open, flexible and innovative Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated experience in working in an interprofessional capacity related to education
Demonstrated commitment to research process, quality and safety and application to practice
Current and satisfactory Police Check
Current and satisfactory Working with Children Check
Evidence of completion of all mandatory training requirements of current organisation
Desirable
Completion of a preceptorship program
Experience in working with an electronic medical record
Experience in implementing education programs
Project management experience
