Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services.

These positions are for 12 months in the Neurosurgery Department at The Alfred Hospital.

Applications are encouraged from suitably qualified doctors with an interest in neurosurgery who have undertaken rotations in Neurosurgery at the level of a senior resident (Post-Graduate Year 3) or greater.

This position will expose the successful candidate to a broad range of elective and emergency cranial and spinal neurosurgery.  The clinical program includes daily ward rounds and theatre sessions, weekly cerebrovascular and neuro-oncology multidisciplinary meetings, weekly  journal club, fortnightly audit meetings, and monthly endocrine, skull base and complex spine meetings.
