A collaborative partnership within Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH) has created an exciting role for a Senior Pharmacist in our Community Mental Health program. The Senior Pharmacist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-level pharmacy expertise focussing on clients experiencing mental illness.

  • Full-Time - 80 hours per fortnight plus ADO
  • 12 month (Maternity Leave Cover) Contract
  • Grade 3 Hospital Pharmacist SX6 – SX81
  • Based at St Kilda Road Clinic, St Kilda Rd Melbourne

 

THE DEPARTMENT

The Pharmacy Department works closely with patients, their family and other health services to provide excellent service in the area of medication management. Our departments' priorities are to provide information on medication safety, cost-effective use of medication for patients and deliver specialised pharmacy expertise at important points of a patient's recovery or treatment process.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist with experience in providing clinical pharmacy services across a range of mental health services but with a special interest in community-based mental health care. You will work collaboratively with our existing community mental health pharmacist, Lead Pharmacist and the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best medication outcomes for individual patients under the Alfred (Adult) Community Mental Health Program, and provide support and contribute to the overall Pharmacy Service for Alfred Mental and Addiction Health.

Our services are provided through comprehensive structured outpatient and community-based programs that focus on enhancing the mental health, independence and overall wellbeing of people residing in the community.

Research is an essential part of pharmacy services at Alfred Health. The post holder would also be expected to contribute to the research and educational activities of the Mental and Addiction Health Program.

 

YOUR SKILLS
•    Demonstrated knowledge in pharmacotherapeutics in psychotropic medicine, including acute psychiatry, child and adolescent services and older age mental health services, addiction and substance misuse services
•    Demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills
•    Ability to search and analyse medical literature
•    Demonstrate leadership, initiative and complex decision-making skills
•    Ability to work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary team environment 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered pharmacist with AHPRA
  • Relevant clinical post-graduate qualification such as Masters in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Credentialed or a portfolio that demonstrates progression towards credentialing as Advanced (Level 2 or 3) on the Australian Advanced Level Framework highly desirable
