AMAH State-wide Services include WREN- Women’s Recovery Network Ramsay Albert Road Clinic; Ngami Wilam - Residential Eating Disorders Treatment Centre in Armadale; and the Lived Experience Residential Service. AMAH also works in partnership with local non-government and social support agencies. Ngamai Wilam is a newly built 12-bed residential eating disorder treatment facility in Armadale, set to open in May 2025. Jointly funded by the Australian Federal Government and the Victorian Government, this specialist statewide service will be managed by Alfred Health.
Ngamai Wilam provides 24/7 trauma-informed, recovery-focused care for adults aged 18 and over in a gender-inclusive, home-like therapeutic environment. With a strong emphasis on family and chosen supports, our team is dedicated to person-centred care that promotes long-term recovery.

About the role
You will lead and develop nutrition services at Ngamai Wilam Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Centre and support the growth of eating disorder services within AMAH. Collaborating with key stakeholders, you will guide dietitians, mental health clinicians, and support staff in establishing dietetic care models and improving food services at Ngamai Wilam. You will provide clinical nutrition expertise, including individual and group services, health promotion, and consultation to mental health staff. The role involves identifying staff learning needs, developing strategies, and creating policies and guidelines. You will also supervise junior dietitians, educate students, and contribute to the development of the discipline both at Ngamai Wilam and Alfred Health. Additionally, you will oversee nutrition quality activities, research, and program evaluation, ensuring effective leadership, teamwork, and communication. As a senior member of the Nutrition Department, you will help implement quality improvements aligned with Alfred Health’s strategic goals.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
- Eligibility for DA membership · Current Accredited Practising Dietitian Status or willingness to regain APD status (at own expenses) Eligibility to be a Certified Accredited Practising Dietitian
- Post graduate qualifications or working towards post-graduate qualifications
- Minimum of seven years’ post graduate clinical experience for Grade 3
- Credentialed Eating Disordered Clinician
- Extensive experience in the application of Dietetics in practice in across mental health services
- Experience in the effective delivery of services Dietetics for those experiencing mental illness including eating disorders
- Australian working rights and current Influenza vaccination
