Pharmacy Advanced Training Residency 2025 Intake Fixed Term 2-year contract until March 2027

The Department and Role

The Alfred Health Advanced Training Residency Program provides pharmacists with a formal structured program to support progression to advanced practice in a specific speciality practice area. We are looking for positions in the following specialities (in addition to our existing cohort):

• Surgery
• General Medicine
• Respiratory
• Mental Health
• Education
• Oncology
• Infectious Disease
• Geriatric Medicine

The Two-year Advanced Training Residency offers

• Formal structured learning with minimum 18 months in chosen specialty.
• A two-year full-time Grade 2 appointment within the Alfred Health Clinical Pharmacy Service.
• Formal awarding of an AdPha Registrar in the chosen specialty at the completion of the program.
• For General Medicine practice area, the unique and exciting opportunity to opt-in to a short breadth rotation at Alice Springs Hospital during the training program
• Note that the Residency program begins in March 2025. Successful candidates would commence earlier for a period of orientation prior to the program.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Clinical experience of 3 to 5 years in clinical practice
• Applicant must be a registered pharmacist with AHPRA
• Applicant must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or have a valid working permit
• Recognition as a Resident with the Australian and New Zealand College of Advanced Pharmacy (ANZCAP) OR hold an existing industry equivalent recognition
