The Department

The Adult and Older Adult Service (AOAS) combines the strengths of Alfred Mental and Addiction Health (AMAH) Adult Community Mental Health and Caulfield Aged and Liaison Psychiatry Services. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, person-centred support to adults and older adults through an expansive range of therapeutic mental health services.

As part of our commitment to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health recommendations and the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, we’re expanding our offerings to ensure clients benefit from specialist expertise alongside access to innovative, broad-spectrum care options. This includes specialized pathways for substance use disorders, rehabilitation and recovery, physical and mental health integration, and trauma-focused services.

The Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the mental health sector? Our department focuses on integrated treatment, education, peer support, care planning, and navigation services, designed to support individuals through every stage of their recovery journey.

As the Operations Manager Continuing Care (CCT), you will be a key member of the AOAS leadership team. You will provide operational leadership through 5 Team Leaders to ensure the performance, sustainability, and quality of CCT services. The role has strategic and operational accountability for delivering safe, recovery oriented and person-centred mental health care in line with legislative, funding, and organisational requirements. This includes oversight of workforce coordination, service performance, and quality outcomes across continuing care teams.

You will be responsible for the operational performance of the Continuing Care Teams and will partner with unit head, discipline, clinical and operational leaders to support integrated care pathways across Adult and Older Adult services. Accountabilities include service access and flow, workforce sustainability, and compliance with clinical governance requirements. 

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Registration with relevant professional organisation or body with relevant post graduate qualifications preferably in mental health or community health.
  • Substantial experience in mental health service management and a record of delivering high-quality service outcomes.
  • Highly developed knowledge of community mental health, advanced clinical skills and understanding of workforce issues.
  • An in depth understanding of contemporary community care and treatment models.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act (2022) and other relevant legislation and policies.
  • Management qualifications would be highly regarded.
  • Australian working rights, current Influenza vaccination, satisfactory completion of Working with Children Check and be willing to complete a background check.
