The Department

RESPIRATORY MEDICINE at The Alfred provide specialist consultative services throughout the breadth of respiratory medicine and allergic diseases, and includes four constituent clinical Services. The clinical operational structure comprises:
Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology Service, Cystic Fibrosis Service, General Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Service, Lung Transplantation Service, Physiology Service.

 

The Role

The Cystic Fibrosis Nurse Coordinator has broad-based clinical expertise that enables them to assess, plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate the patients’ care, and to involve a wide range of health care professionals and disciplines.
As the Cystic Fibrosis Nurse Coordinator you foster autonomy/independence of the patients in managing their health care, in keeping with the spirit of the health service agreement. 

 

Skills/Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current practising certificate.
  • Minimum 5 years acute nursing experience.
  • Experience in Respiratory Medicine and/or managing the health care needs of people with cystic fibrosis.
  • 2 years respiratory and/or cardiovascular nursing experience.
  • Post graduate qualification preferred.
