RESPIRATORY MEDICINE at The Alfred provide specialist consultative services throughout the breadth of respiratory medicine and allergic diseases, and includes four constituent clinical Services. The clinical operational structure comprises:
Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology Service, Cystic Fibrosis Service, General Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Service, Lung Transplantation Service, Physiology Service.
The Cystic Fibrosis Nurse Coordinator has broad-based clinical expertise that enables them to assess, plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate the patients’ care, and to involve a wide range of health care professionals and disciplines.
As the Cystic Fibrosis Nurse Coordinator you foster autonomy/independence of the patients in managing their health care, in keeping with the spirit of the health service agreement.
- Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current practising certificate.
- Minimum 5 years acute nursing experience.
- Experience in Respiratory Medicine and/or managing the health care needs of people with cystic fibrosis.
- 2 years respiratory and/or cardiovascular nursing experience.
- Post graduate qualification preferred.
