  • 18 Months Fixed Term – potential for extension/long term opportunities  

This is an exciting and dynamic opportunity for an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Operations Manager to join the Medical Workforce Team. 

The Medical Workforce Unit manages the administrative aspects for over 1800 medical staff appointments and provides services for both junior and senior medical staff across Alfred Health. 

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Medical Workforce, you will lead a small team overseeing the day to day transactional activities relating to Junior Medical Staff rotations, rosters, leave, terminations, and time and attendance management. You will also be responsible to develop a business partnering model that will integrate more thoroughly into business processes and to align medical operational activities with organisational and clinical objectives.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification ie HR/ER or Management is preferred, but not essential
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, health/medical is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills with an ability to inspire and motivate individuals to high performance
  • Understanding of workforce planning principals relating to rostering and leave management 
  • Experience with electronic rostering systems preferably at a system administrator level including any HR related systems
  • Proven experience to work in a demanding, high volume and fast paced environment 
  • Superior communication, interpersonal, organisational and time management skills
  • Pragmatic and confident in liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • High degree of attention to detail and professionalism with the ability to analyse and problem solve
