  • 12-month fixed term from July 2026

The Department

Alfred Care Group’s Dietetics and Nutrition Department provides an integrated nutrition and dietetic service at The Alfred, Sandringham and Caulfield Hospitals. The joint Nutrition Department is comprised of approximately 48EFT and 70 staff members. It is organised into eight clinical streams and provides a 7-day service. Using evidence-based, patient-centred care it provides clinical expertise to Alfred Health’s patients during their healthcare journey, including the prevention and treatment of malnutrition and the optimisation of nutritional wellbeing and recovery through tailored, specialised nutrition therapy. 

 

The Role

The Dietetic & Nutrition Department is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 3 Dietitian to join their team in an exciting new Women’s Health position. This outpatient focused role will be based at Sandringham Hospital on a Thursday and will work with the Endocrinology Department to establish a new Women’s Health Clinic. This position will work alongside nurse practitioners, endocrinologists, physiotherapists and other allied health to improve access, early intervention and co-ordinated care for women with complex reproductive, metabolic and endocrine needs. Student education, supervision of Grade 1 and/or 2 Dietitians and active participation in quality and/or research activities are integral to this role. 

 

Skills

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Possesses qualifications providing eligibility for full membership of Dietitians’ Australia (DA) and participation in the APD program.
  • 7 years of clinical experience. Specialist experience in women’s health and/or endocrinology is desirable but not essential. 
  • Higher qualification in (or proceeding towards) Health Professional Education, Management, Public Health or Research (highly desirable).
  • Current driver's license.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
