Department

Alfred Health Radiation Oncology (AHRO) is a unit of a comprehensive cancer service, with sites located at The Alfred - Melbourne and Gippsland Radiation Oncology (GRO) at Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) - Traralgon. The service provides the full range of general radiation oncology and radiation therapy services in addition to some specialised services with both state and national significance.

 

Role

Grade 5 permanent full-time Radiation Therapist located at Alfred Radiation Oncology.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the organisation and management of the radiation therapy treatment and planning sections at Alfred Radiation Oncology,  and as members of the Senior RT group, liaise closely with senior RTs at Gippsland Radiation Oncology, and contribute to the service's overall strategic directions and objectives.  Refer to the position description for full list of key capabilities, values, duties and responsibilities and experience required.  

 

Experience Required

  • Experience, skills and knowledge base in radiation therapy practice and team organisation and supervision commensurate with senior radiation therapist responsibilities.
  • Well-developed time management skills and an ability to manage both personal and section workload efficiently, effectively and safely.
  • Awareness of quality and safety issues.
  • Engagement with continuing professional development.
  • Experience in team supervision and leadership in a multidisciplinary environment.
