Alfred Health is the main provider of health services to people in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne and is also a major provider of specialist services to people across Victoria.  The Health Service operates three outstanding facilities: The Alfred, Caulfield and Sandringham.

  • 3 Sessions per week

Based at the Alfred Campus, the Allergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology Service is the largest and most comprehensive adult service of its kind in Victoria, with more than 6000 outpatient attendances annually. The Service provides care for patients with primary immunodeficiency, autoimmunity, all forms of allergic disease, and difficult-to-treat asthma. The Service provides specialist programs for drug allergy testing, oral food challenges, venom immunotherapy, and systematic assessment for difficult anaphylaxis and difficult-to-treat asthma.

Applications are invited for a Visiting Medical Officer position in the Allergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology Service, within the Department of Respiratory Medicine. This position will focus on Allergy and Immunology, encompassing management of allergic disease, immunodeficiency, autoimmunity, asthma, and procedural work related to allergy testing and desensitization. The successful applicant will participate in research and educational activities within the service.

Applicants must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). It is highly desirable for applicants to hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Pathologists, in Immunopathology. Postgraduate research experience is highly desirable.
