Play a key role in transforming the way Alfred Health delivers patient care
The Digital Health division is responsible for enabling clinical staff to deliver timely, quality care to our patients and carers, through innovative use of information technologies, and strategic management of information and data across the organisation.
The division manages:
Information technology procurement, delivery, security and support.
Electronic Medical Record design, development and support, including the electronic Timely Quality Care Program.
General applications support.
Data Governance and security.
The primary purpose of this role is to orient and support new team members within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Clinical Information Systems (CIS) teams, and upskill existing team members, in the use of the Cerner Millennium suite of applications used across Alfred Health. This involves:
Liaising with the EMR/CIS team leaders, users and vendors to create detailed training plans and development goals in appropriate applications included in the Cerner suite of CIS applications.
Investigating and improving the skill set of members of the EMR/CIS team in the use of the information systems to benefit the organisation.
Liaising with the clinical technical team, learning and development team and other relevant teams for the development, testing and deployment of training materials that are specifically focused on functions within CERNER MILLENNIUM suite.
Creating an EMR/CIS Competency Framework and all associated learning so new and existing team members have defined development pathways
Ensuring all new staff members in the EMR/CIS team are trained and orientated to the Healthcare environment and in the clinical system architecture used at Alfred Health.
Liaising with users and the business to obtain feedback and inform areas of development to ensure the EMR/CIS team are providing the most applicable and relevant support and guidance to the organisation.
Liaising with Cerner education team and cloud based solutions team for the ongoing support and maintenance of all cloud based solutions deployed across the organisation.
Liaising with and maintaining a positive relationship with Cerner as the vendor and ensuring the team are constantly made aware of enhancements and new options available through the optimisation of the database.
Demonstrable ability to design, develop, facilitate and evaluate Cerner Millennium learning programs to employees.
Exceptional and broad-based knowledge of Cerner millennium applications.
Excellent communication skills combined with an ability to share knowledge, educate and on-board new staff, and upskill existing team members.
A baseline understanding of application integration concepts and exposure to the use of HL7 integration tools
Strong skills in preparing and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
Experience of software concepts and a baseline understanding of relational databases is desirable
