The Department

Ward 5 East is a 32 bed inpatient unit that supports the complex care of patients with respiratory disease. The department of respiratory medicine  deliver a range of statewide and national leading programs for the treatment of Cystic Fibrosis, Lung transplantation, Paediatric lung transplantation, general respiratory and sleep medicine and astham and allergy.  The nurse manager role is a pivotal leadership role to ensuring safe, high-quality patient care is delivered in conjunction with multidisciplinary team and the department of respiratory medicine. 

The Role

The Nurse Manager of 5 East is a professional and clinical leader in Nursing Services and plays a pivotal role in meeting broader organisational imperatives. The Nurse Manager operationalises the core values of nursing at Alfred Care Group by ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff. They are accountable for developing staff to deliver excellence in clinical practice and is responsible for managing clinical risk and implementing systems and processes to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience required

  • Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
  • Masters level qualification
  • Recent extensive acute clinical nursing experience
  • Recent experience at the ANUM or Nurse Manager Level (preferred).
  • Ability to deliver local projects.
  • Current and satisfactory Police Check.
  • Current and satisfactory Working with Children Check
