Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

  • Full-time with flexible ADO to July 2026 
  • Salary: RPN Grade 5, PSY Grade 4 or Chief SW/OT Grade 2

ABOUT US

Alfred Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS) is friendly to infants, children, young people and their families/carers.  

We provide accessible mental health services inclusive of family, friends and support networks.  

We are a specialist, multi-disciplinary and intensive care mental health service incorporating the lived and living experience of family peer specialists and youth peer workers.  

Our service is divided into two streams 0-11 and 12-26 years, and includes specialist services in the areas of perinatal care, neurodevelopmental presentations, eating disorders and outreach support.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Sector Team Leader plays a pivotal role in supporting senior intake clinicians in managing the referrals and intakes to the service.

In this role, you will lead and co-ordinate the multidisciplinary team especially in the areas of allocation, monitoring of workload, teamwork, clinical team processes, client pathways, stakeholder engagement, and other operational functions and management of resources required by the team.

You will also lead the development of innovation and creative engagement and service delivery approaches to children, young people and their families.

You are passionate about creating a team culture and performance that is based on hope, optimism and a recovery framework.

You’ll also:

  • Be eligible for membership with AHPRA or the appropriate professional body
  • Have experience in specialist assessment and treatment of children and youth in mental health
  • Have experience in leading teams
  • Possess Australian working rights and current Influenza vaccination
  • Have/be willing to apply for a Valid Victorian Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a background check
