  • Fixed term until 13 April 2025
  • Full-time at 80 hrs per f/n with an accrued day off once every four weeks

Human Resources

This role is within the Employee Relations Team, which, together with HR Consulting, HR Systems, Recruitment, and OHS, makes up Human Resources. Together, we provide an operational HR service that covers a broad range of HR matters.

Human Resources are part of People and Culture alongside Organisational Development, Learning and Innovation, Patient Experience and Consumer Engagement, and Redesigning Care.

The Role

The Employee Relations Adviser sits within Employee Relations, a small team of employee relations specialists. We are trusted advisers, providing high-level technical support to HR Business Partners and senior managers on a wide range of compliance-related matters. We lead enterprise agreement implementation, manage complex cases, act as a point of escalation, and represent Alfred Health in tribunals.

About you 

You will have a working knowledge of employee relations and experience in implementing this. You may be an emerging ER practitioner or an HRBP with ER skills. Importantly, you will pay attention to detail, be thorough, measured and balanced in your approach, be able to prioritise multiple demands and be willing to learn. You will have excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to build trusted relationships and influence with impact. You want to make a positive contribution to an organisation that improves the health outcomes of our patients. You can:

  • Skilfully interpreted enterprise agreements and administered these effectively
  • Manage and resolve complex matters in areas such as performance management, organisational change and disputation, although you may need support with this
  • Find your way around employment legislation and case law and translate this into practice
  • Assist with drafting HR-related policies and procedures
