The Department
The Alfred Health Cancer Program is responsible for the overall delivery of a comprehensive cancer service which includes a number of clinical areas and units including; Medical Oncology, Haematology, Bone Marrow Transplant, State-wide Haemophilia Service, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care and the Victorian Melanoma Service. The clinical areas include inpatient and ambulatory areas, inclusive of the Paula Fox Melanoma and Cancer Centre, which is a state-of-the-art facility offering comprehensive cancer care, alongside an integrated Wellness Centre. Alfred Cancer also has a large focus on clinical trials and research within each unit of the program.
The Role
The Innovation and Improvement Manager has a strategic role in delivering improved business processes and innovative service models across the Cancer Program. We are looking for a highly functional individual who is able to lead a program of work to ensure we deliver high quality of care to our patients. Leading change and being innovative are key requirements of the role.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Essential
- A degree in a relevant healthcare profession, management, or change management field
- Experience managing large scale improvement and change projects and overseeing multiple programs of work and evaluation skills.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders and collaborating with people from different levels and roles
- Exceptional influencing and relationship management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative partnerships
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, incorporating high level of computer literacy, written and verbal communication, negotiation and facilitation skills.
- Process improvement methodology experience
Desirable
- Experience in the health sector
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with Alfred IT systems including Cerner EMR; Power Chart and Scheduling
- Knowledge and experience in a cancer related field
- Demonstrates advanced strategy and planning skills including qualitative and quantitative data analysis
