This is a one year fellowship (81 hours per fortnight) in Echocardiography.

Applicants must have completed at least three years of Advanced Training in Clinical Cardiology and have completed their FRACP (Part 2) or a recognised equivalent.

This exciting position offers training in all aspects of echocardiography in our busy echo service including transthoracic and stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography for inpatients, outpatients and to support the echocardiography work within the interventional, structural and electrophysiology laboratories. The Alfred is a quaternary referral centre providing statewide services in Heart Transplantation and MCS.  Supervision of more junior medical staff and managing their duties and the coordination of the day to day work of the Echocardiography laboratory will be essential. The Alfred has an outstanding cardiac education program which you will participate in. Areas of special focus within the echo department include participating in the busy structural heart program as part of the Heart Team, with involvement in mitral and tricuspid TEER cases, alongside other investigational devices. While this is primarily an echocardiography position, there is also potential for some experience in other modaliites such as cardiac CT or CMR, subject to operational requirements. There are also opportunities for research with an experienced team of imaging researchers.
