The Women’s Health Research Program is within the Monash School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine on the Alfred Health campus. We undertake cutting edge research pertaining to common health issues that affect women throughout adult life. Our research program includes studies to determine the health care needs of younger women, women at midlife and older women. Our aim is to enable women to experience the best possible quality of life through research, critical evaluation of available information and professional and community education.
We are seeking a Research Nurse Consultant for an exciting study of the care of women who have experienced premature menopause. The Research Nurse Consultant will work closely with the Principal Investigators and all associated research and site staff to co-ordinate and support the clinical trial. The Research Nurse Consultant will ensure that a high quality, professional and efficient research service is consistently provided in accordance with good clinical practice and appropriate clinical trial regulations. This position reports to the Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator and training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Current AHPRA registration as a registered nurse
A tertiary nursing qualification
Knowledge of relevant codes and legislation related to human research ethics and research governance within Australia would be an advantage, but not essential
Highly-developed planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing priorities, implementing improvements and meeting deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a team as well as the ability to exercise high levels of independence, judgement and initiative
Highly-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Be able to co-ordinate the day-to-day operations of the research program or project including experiments, testing or data collection activities, overseeing OHS or patient safety measures, maintaining equipment and materials, waste disposal and ordering of supplies
